Stay bolt register

Next step for boiler repair is to replace stay bolts removed in 2020. Stay bolts are threaded steel bolts that connect the inner firebox to the outer boiler shell.

Current estimate is 83 stay bolts plus a few more. Rigid stay bolts cost $300. Flexi stay bolts cost $500 each.

Each stay bolt must be measured, machined and cut to length to fit the space between crown sheet (fire box) and outer boiler shell.
